STILWELL — The Poteau Pirates wrestling team posted a 37-29 road dual win over the Stilwell Indians Tuesday night.
The Pirates (11-5) won seven matches on the night, of which four were by pins by Devin Anderson (120 pounds), Tyler Tustin (132), Derek Francis (170) and Gabe Sanchez (195).
Will Longenbaugh got a decision win at 126 pounds, Khy Mote got a major decision at 160 and Tanner Sanders won by forfeit at 145.
It was the second time the Pirates beat the Indians. Poteau defeated Stilwell 54-15 during the Jay Border Wars last month. This time around, it was not quite the same.
Tuesday night, I headed out to the Kiamichi Technology Center for the public comment meeting concerning proposed changes in Wildlife Department regulations. The two main changes that I am interested in deal with baiting on wildlife management areas and the expanding of bear season.
