Whitehead was the third-place medalist at the Class 2A Regional Tournament Monday afternoon at Aarowhead Resort Golf Course to earn a spot in next week's state tournament, which will take place Monday and Tuesday at Sugar Creek Canyon Golf Course near Hinton.
The Yellowjacket golfer had a pretty good feeling he was going to knock the door down to state this spring.

Heavener soccer senior girls believe they've helped program turn corner

May 5, 2012

HEAVENER — While the Heavener Lady Wolves soccer team did not make the playoffs, there were still a lot of positives from which to build in preparation for the 2013 season.
For starters, the win-loss record was better, 3-5 overall and 2-4 in District 4A-6.
“We made a lot of progress,” senior goaltender Courtney Smith said. “We won more games than we did in the past three years I've been here. It was an honor to work with all these girls, and to come out with some wins — including a district win. We have really come far. I had a blast. I love soccer so much.”
