Spiro girls nip Silo, but losses to Ringling, Morris eliminate Lady Bulldogs from last weekend's Rock Creek Tournament

BLUE — The Spiro Lady Bulldogs went 1-2 to end their stay in last weekend's Rock Creek Lady Mustangs Tournament. After nipping the Silo Lady Rebels 2-1 on Friday, back-to-back losses on Saturday — 7-1 to Ringling and 10-3 to Morris — eliminated the Lady Bulldogs from the tournament.

Pirates, Wolves to scrimmage each other Friday night at Harvey Stadium; scrimmage moved to Heavener due to turf installment still going on at Costner Stadium

The Poteau Pirates and the Heavener Wolves are tired of beating up on their teammates for the first two weeks of practice. So, they’ll beat up on each other Friday night when the Pirates face the Wolves at 6:30 at Harvey Stadium for both teams first non-interteam scrimmage of the season. The scrimmage was to have been at Costner Stadium, but due to the turf still not fully installed the scrimmage had to be moved to Harvey Stadium.
Admission to Friday night’s scrimmage will be canned goods that will be distributed to local food pantries.

Panama football team to entertain Savanna, possibly Atoka, in scrimmage Friday night

The Panama Razorbacks were to have their Red-White Scrimmage last Saturday night, but it was canceled due to last weekend’s tragic automobile accident that claimed the lives of three local youth, including two Panama High School students.
So, the Hogs will get their first taste of a game-like situation Friday night when they welcome the Savanna Bulldogs to George Ollie Stadium for a 6 p.m. scrimmage. It could end up being a three-way with the Atoka Wampus Cats joining in.

Pocola Indians to have home football scrimmage vs. Gore Pirates on Friday night

The Pocola Indians football team will get its first taste of what it will be like on Friday nights when they have their first scrimmage of the season at 6 p.m. Friday when they welcome the Gore Pirates to John Carter Field.

WHITESBORO — The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs split their home three-way with Wright City and Arkoma, beating the Lady Mustangs 9-1 but losing 11-3 to Lady Lumberjax 11-3.
Wright City blanked Arkoma 4-0 in the middle game of Tuesday’s three-way.
Cameron 6, Buffalo Valley 0: In Buffalo Valley, Cameron pitcher Dakotha Battice threw a two-hitter for the Lady Yellowjackets.
Heavener 8, Hartshorne 2; Wilburton 2, Heavener 0: In Wilburton, the Lady Wolves split Tuesday’s road three-way.

CAMERON — The Howe Lions got their first fall baseball win of the season as they roared past the Cameron Yellowjackets 14-6 in a game ended by run rule after five innings.
The ’Jackets had a 4-3 lead after two innings, but the Lions scored four runs in the third inning to take a 7-4 lead, which they never lost.

Arkoma football team to scrimmage host Midway, Regent Prep, three other District B-4 foes Thursday night

The Arkoma Mustangs football team has some questions it needs to answer, and coach Mark Weatherton said several — if not all of them — will hoped to be answered in Thursday night's six-way scrimmage against host Midway, Tulsa Regent Prep and three of Arkoma's District B-4 foes, Keota, Porum and Wetumka. Action at Midway High School in Council Hill, northwest of Checotah, will begin at 7 p.m.

The Spiro Bulldogs will get their first taste of game-like situations Thursday night when they participate in a six-way scrimmage at Okmulgee along with four Tulsa Schools — Hale, McLain, Rogers and Webster. The junior varsity part of the scrimmage will be at 6 p.m., with the varsity portion of the scrimmage at about 7 p.m.

Talihina football team hits road to scrimmage Valliant Thursday night

After graduation hit the Talihina Golden Tigers pretty hard last spring, the Golden Tigers are trying to find those players replacements. They hope to do so in Thursday night's road scrimmage against the homestanding Valliant Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.

Poteau, Heavener, Wister softball teams in Oktaha Tournament

Three LeFlore County softball teams, Poteau, Heavener and Wister, will represent the county at the Oktaha Tournament, which will take place Thursday, take a day off Friday and conclude on Saturday.
The Lady Pirates will face the host Lady Tigers at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, then meet the Stilwell Lady Indians at 12:45 p.m.
The Lady Wolves will meet the Sequoyah-Tahlequah junior varsity at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, followed by a 12:45 p.m. game against Warner.
The Lady Wildcats will face Vian at 2 p.m. Thursday and Sallisaw-Central at 3:20 p.m.
