WISTER — Kyla Brown's RBI double scored Hunter Gibson in the seventh inning to break a tie to give the Wister Lady Wildcats a 2-1 victory over the Poteau Lady Pirates on Monday afternoon.
Pocola 10, Arkoma 1: In Pocola, the Lady Indians jumped out to a 2-0 lead after an inning and had a 3-0 advantage after two.
Cameron 9, Panama 8, 8 inn.: In Cameron, the Lady Yellowjackets scored twice in the eighth to snatch the win away from the Lady Razorbacks, who took a 8-7 lead in the top of the inning.

HOWE — The Wister Wildcats got their second and third victories over Howe this season as they swept the Lions 18-1 and 12-1 Monday afternoon at Lions Field.
Cameron 13, McCurtain 12; McCurtain 15, Cameron 12: In Cameron, the Yellowjackets (1-2) split their home openers on Monday, with Cameron taking the nightcap after the Bulldogs won the opener.
Leflore 8, Pittsburg 3: in Pittsburg, the Savages (2-3) rallied from a 3-0 third-inning deficit by tying the game with a three-run fourth inning.

Wister boys beat Leflore for third place at Red Oak Tournament

RED OAK — The Wister Wildcats finished third in the Red Oak Tournament after they handled the Leflore Savages 11-0 in Saturday's third-place game.
The ’Cats lost their first game of the season Friday as they fell 5-2 to the Crowder Demons.

HARTSHORNE — The Wister Lady Wildcats split their games in Friday’s Hartshorne Festival, blanking Quinton 4-0 but losing 3-2 to Wilburton.

TULSA — The 2015 high school cross country season got underway Saturday for the Poteau High School cross country runners, and even their coach, as they ran in the Riverside 5,000.

Pirates have interteam scrimmage on Saturday

Even though the playing field of Costner Stadium is in the latter stages of installation of artificial turf, the Poteau Pirates still had their preseason Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday morning on the practice field located on the back 40 acres. The scrimmage was attended by an estimated 200 fans and parents.

Howe girls beat host Lady Bulldogs to win Whitesboro Tournament

WHITESBORO — The Howe Lady Lions ended their first week of the season in fine fashion by winning the Whitesboro Tournament on Saturday night, downing the host Lady Bulldogs 7-5 in the finals.
The Lady Lions reached the finals with a 12-1 win over Smithville in the winner’s-bracket finals Saturday after blanking the Lady Braves 8-0 on Friday.

Pocola girls fall in title game of own tournament to Vian; Lady Wolves third

The Pocola Lady Indians came in runners-up in their own tournament, losing 3-1 in the finals to Vian on Saturday night.
The Lady Indians beat Heavener 3-1 in the winner’s-bracket semifinal Friday before losing 6-0 to Vian in the winner’s-bracket finals on Saturday. Right after the Vian loss, Pocola beat Heavener once again, this time 2-1 in the loser’s-bracket final.
Heavener blanked Roland 6-0 on Friday before losing to Pocola, then posted wins over Keota [8-2] and Muldrow [6-0] before losing to Pocola in the loser’s-bracket finals.

Pocola, Heavener girls win openers in Pocola Tournament, but Cameron, Talihina, Arkoma girls lose in Day 1 action; Lady Indians, Lady Wolves pitchers toss no-hitters

The host Pocola Lady Indians and the Heavener Lady Wolves posted victories in the opening round of the Pocola Tournament on Thursday afternoon.
Pocola's Sammie Kuhns no hit the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets for a 6-0 victory, while in the game prior the Lady Wolves blanked the Talihina Golden Tigers 12-0 behind Makenzie Wilson's no-hitter.
The Arkoma Lady Mustangs, the other local team in the field, fell 11-0 to the Gore Lady Pirates. The Keota Lady Lions also lost, falling 4-1 to the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs.
