FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The 2014 season didn’t start well for the Arkansas Razorbacks, getting handled 45-21 Aug. 30 at Auburn.
However, since then the Hogs have won three straight — and all pretty convincingly. The last two wins are most impressive, going into Lubbock, Texas, and downing the Red Raiders 49-28 and beating a Northern Illinois team 52-14 that had won 17 straight road games — and just missed out going to a Bowl Championship Series bowl last season.

Some things Poteau Pirates' Friday night win taught me

September 24, 2014

There were several things I learned from Friday night's Poteau home opener against Campus, Kan.:
1. The Colts are the fastest paced fast-break football team I have ever seen. However, for a team that like to run inside screens, their receivers are timid. On the split screen, the receivers had the ball on their hands numerous time but dropped at least seven of those passes due to the presence of Austin Archey and his fellow Pirates as the Kansans wanted no part of those head hunters.

For the first time since winning back-to-back county titles in 2001 and 2002, the LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Tournament was won by the Heavener Lady Wolves.
The Lady Wolves scored the game-winning run on an error to down the Pocola Lady Indians 3-2 in Monday night's title game at Panama. The same two teams met for the slow-pitch county title in April, with Heavener winning it after being forced into the if-game by Pocola.
