SASAKWA â€” The Bokoshe Tigers had two rough home games to begin the season, and they were hoping their luck would change on a visiting football field. Unfortunately for the Tigers, it didn't.
The homestanding Sasakwa Vikings mercy ruled the Tigers 46-0 Friday night.
SALLISAW â€” The Talihina Golden Tigers football team had a stiff test from the Class 4A sixth-rated Sallisaw Black Diamonds junior varsity Thursday night at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium. They used a conservative rushing attack to hold back the talented Black Diamonds to post a 28-17 victory.
After the Poteau Pirates varsity football team posted an 18-15 road win last weekend over the Van Buren (Ark.) Pointers, three more Poteau squads did likewise this week.
The Pirate freshmen remained undefeated with a 14-0 shutout of the Pointers Thursday night at Costner Stadium.
The week began on a high note for Poteau football as both Pansy Kidd Middle School teams beat Van Buren Tuesday at Costner Stadium. The eighth-grade Raiders got their first win of the season with a 24-8 victory over the Pointers, which came on the heels of the seventh-grade Raiders' 30-14 win.
