Former Carl Albert State College Vikings basketball player Jaron Jones, now playing at Eastern Kentucky University of the Ohio Valley Conference, will be coming pretty close to home tonight.

Former Talihina boys coach to be honored tonight

December 20, 2011

All of LeFlore County's spotlight will be centered on one location on this night.
For starters, the only games involving a county school take place tonight when the Talihina teams entertain Broken Bow at Ray Henson Gymnasium.
However, there will be more than just hoops taking place there tonight. In between games, former Talihina Boys Coach Chris Gillespie will be honored by having the court named in his honor.
When I went down a couple of weekends ago for the Choctaw Nation Tournament, I saw the ensignia on both sides of the court — it has his signature above the word “Court.”
