KEOTA â€” The Howe High School basketball teams swept a pair of games from the homestanding Keota squads in a battle of Lions on Friday night.
The Howe girls remained undefeated with a 79-41 win over Keota, while Howeâ€™s boys edged Keota 65-54.
In the girlsâ€™ contest, Howeâ€™s Lady Lions, who led 14-8 after a period, outscored Keota 21-13 in the second quarter to take a 35-21 lead at halftime. Then, Howe outscored Keota 44-20 in the second half.
In the boysâ€™ game, Howe led 16-12 after a period, but local Lions outscored Haskell Countyâ€™s Lions 19-7 second quarter to take a 35-19 lead at halftime.
