Rain cancels practice for Tri-State Speedway event

March 26, 2015

Due to the rain Wednesday night, practices tonight for the 36th Annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger at Tri-State Speedway​ have been canceled.
Drivers and fans traveling from out of town are welcome to park in the parking lot tonight.
Races will start Friday, with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. and grandstands at 5 p.m.

Former Heavener Wolf gets his first OSU win Friday night, downing No. 1 TCU

When the top-ranked team in college baseball went down Friday night, there was some LeFlore County connection to the defeat.
Former Heavener Wolf Koda Glover got the win in relief for his current team, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, as the Pokes beat the Texas Christian Horned Frogs 7-6 in 12 innings Friday night at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, which included two strikeouts in the 12th inning to dash any hopes of a TCU comeback.

A Busy Week Ahead on the Diamond

There will be a plethora of tournaments at the end of this week.
The only one within LeFlore County will be the Leflore Softball Tournament, which takes place Thursday through Saturday.
Three baseball teams, Bokoshe, Leflore and Wister, will be in the Smithville Tournament, while Cameron’s and Panama’s basebball teams will be at the Crowder Demon Classic the same three days. The Spiro Bulldogs will be in the Bixby Spartan Invitational on Thursday through Saturday.

With some sunshine over the last couple of days, there should be some baseball and softball played this week, although it’s Spring Break.
There’s going to be a lot of baseball around here this week, thanks to the Eastern Oklahoma Shootout that will take place Wednesday through Friday at multiple locations in LeFlore County.

Keota at Pocola, 4:30 p.m.
