Pocola Indians welcome Antlers Bearcats for district opener, 'Pink-Out Game'

October 2, 2014

It will be a two-fold purpose served by Friday night's Pocola Indians football team's home game with the Antlers Bearcats at 7 p.m. at John Carter Field.
First off, it will be the District 2A-6 opener for the Indians, who was the lone team of the seven district teams to not play an opponent from 2A-6 last week. Bokoshe Tigers look to sting Cave Springs Hornets

“They still seem to be pretty upbeat,” Bokoshe coach Bryan Murray said about his team's last two losses by the mercy rule — losing 46-0 to Destiny Christian and 54-0 to Sasakwa last week. “I would like to think that being homecoming would help us out this week.”

Heavener seeks road win against Valliant

October 2, 2014

The Heavener Wolves believe they let one slip away for the second straight week. “We're going through growing pains,” first-year Heavener coach Sam Hembree said. “We're a handful of plays from being 3-1 instead of 1-3. We just have to figure things out. Once we do, I think we'll be pretty good.”
