1 dead; three injured in medical helicopter crash

An EagleMed medical helicopter out of Mcalester crashed yesterday evening at the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center in Talihina, killing one and injuring three.
Officials with the Choctaw Nation Tribal Police investigated the crash with the assistance of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, according to emergency responders.
A patient on board the helicopter did not survive the crash, according to officials. The flight nurse on board received serious injuries and was taken to St. Francis Trauma Center in Tulsa. The pilot and medic were treated and released for minor injuries.
The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. as the helicopter was taking off from the hospital.
Names of the involved in the crash have not yet been released.
