Abandoned house fire

Poteau firefighters had a late night Tuesday after a home on the corner of SouthWalters Street and Conser Avenue burst into flames. According to Poteau Fire ChiefJon Pickel the Poteau Fire Department responded to the blaze at approximately 11p.m. and remained on scene until approximately 3:30 p.m. The house was reportedas unoccupied and firefighters on the scene said that the abandoned home wasquickly engulfed in flame. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading, but ChiefPickel says that the home was a total loss. The cause of the inferno is as of yet undetermined.
