Action of the Board of County Commissioners

The Board of the LeFlore County Commissioners held their regularly scheduled weekly meeting Tuesday morning.

The Board of County Commissioners, LeFlore County, State of Oklahoma, met in a Regular Business Meeting on December 27, 2011 at 9 a.m. with Chairman Lance Smith presiding. Also present were Vice-Chairman Derwin Gist, Member Cebern Scott and County Clerk First Deputy Roxane Ballew.
The following action was taken by the board:
Item 1 – Chairman Lance Smith called meeting to order.
Item 2 – Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Derwin Gist to approve the minutes of December 19, 2011. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 3 – Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Derwin Gist to approve purchase orders presented. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 4 – Bonds. None presented.
Item 5 – Monthly fee reports. None presented.
Item 6 – Transfer of appropriations. None presented.
Item 7 – Blanket purchase orders were approved as on file in the office of the LeFlore County Clerk.
Item 8 – Old business. None discussed.
Item 9 – Current bridge and road projects. None discussed.
Item 10 – Burn ban. No discussion.
Item 11 – Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Cebern Scott to table agreement for lease/purchase of new trucks to benefit County Assessor. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 12 – Opened and awarded bid for sale of county owned 1988 backhoe. Motion was made by Derwin Gist and seconded by Cebern Scott to accept highest offer from Lanny Akers. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 13 – Opened bids for lease/purchase of 2 new 10-wheel dump trucks. After discussion, motion was made by Derwin Gist and seconded by Cebern Scott to table item for further review. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 14 – Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Derwin Gist to approve resolution reinvesting surplus of Public Health Funds. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 15 – Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Derwin Gist to approve resolution electing to not advertise fuel bids due to volatile fuel market. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 16 – Motion was made by Cebern Scott and seconded by Lance Smith to approve bid notice and resolution advertising to accept sealed bids re: lease/purchase used fire truck to benefit Talihina Fire Department. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 17 – Motion was made by Cebern Scott and seconded by Lance Smith to approve extension of contract between LeFlore County and HUB Construction re: Little Buzzard Creek project upon recommendation of the BIA. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 18 – Motion was made by Cebern Scott and seconded by Lance Smith to approve resolution accepting county participation for STP Project to install signals with gate and concrete crossing surface for intersection of Lassiter Road and KCS Railroad. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 19 – Motion was made by Cebern Scott and seconded by Derwin Gist to approve resolution of agreement for matching share of STP Project to install signals with gate and concrete crossing surface for intersection of Lassiter Road and KCS Railroad. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Item 20 – Motion was made by Cebern Scott and seconded by Lance Smith to approve payment from CBRI funds to ODOT for STP Project to install signals with gate and concrete crossing surface for intersection of Lassiter Road and KCS Railroad. Motion was approved all voting yes.
Motion was made by Lance Smith and seconded by Derwin Gist to recess and reconvene at 9 a.m. on January 3, 2012. Motion was approved all voting yes, Smith-yes, Gist-yes, Scott-yes.
