Adrian Smith, 63, of Shady Point died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Adrian was born Sept. 2, 1948 in Stillwater to Farley Deshong Smith and Odessa (Johnson) Smith. Adrian was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was the past mayor of Shady Point for more than 10 years. Adrian was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include wife, Becky Smith; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and David Thompson of Poteau, Jessica and Adam Castillo of Shady Point, Adriana and Kendall Morgan of Shady Point; nine grandchildren, Brooke and Dexton Davis, Tiffany Castillo, Colton Castillo, Blake Smith, Bayli Soriano, Gavin Morgan, Gannon Morgan, Tori Morgan and Chase Thompson; one great-grandson, Brexton Davis; mother, Odessa; three sisters, Jimmie Alma ByersÂ of Spiro, Nora Hamby of Spiro, Sue Skelton of Panama; six brothers, Zenas Smith of Russellville, Ark., Dan Smith of Shady Point, Deshong Smith of Spiro, Jonathan Hanna of Spiro, Vernice Hanna of Muldrow, Larry Hanna of Spiro.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Victory Worship Center in Spiro with Rev. Brian Fouts officiating. Burial will be in Shady Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Castillo, Will Stacy, John Goodwin, B.T. Cooper, Marion Akins, Chad Overton, Brock Hopson. Visitation from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
