A.M. “Joker” Sinclair

A.M. “Joker” Sinclair, 90, of Poteau died Monday, August 26, 2013 in Tulsa. Joker was born April 2, 1923 in Poteau to Earnest Austin and Anna Belle (Aydelott) Sinclair. He worked in construction. Joker was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He served in seven World War II Pacific campaigns, fighting on every island where he was injured. He also served as an MP. He married his wife, Wanda, in Fort Smith, Ark., on Aug 9, 1947. Joker was proud of his military service and of being an American. He loved to garden, growing various things, including watermelon and flowers. He was a loving family man. He loved his grandchildren and sitting on the porch whittling. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geneva Gray; and son, Ernest Marshall Sinclair.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Wanda of the home; son, James Ted and Connie Sinclair of Tahlequah; daughter, Barbara Sinclair of Sapulpa; grandchildren, Ernie M. Sinclair Jr., Michelle L. Sinclair, Dustin Griffith, Abby Griffith, Jamie Sinclair Dallis, Lindsay Sinclair; five great-grandchildren; brother, James Leon Sinclair of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Frances Cupp Green and Peg Doyle of Poteau; best friends, Alicia and Anthony Gorman; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Evans Chapel of Memories with the Revs. Jim Cook and James Parsley officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Gray, Terry Gray, Will Dallis, Aaron Gorman, Anthony Gorman II, Philip Baldwin.
The family will visit with relatives and friends at the funeral home from 6 8 p.m. Thursday.
