It did not last long, but Mike Trout enjoyed his stay.
Trout, one of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's top prospects was just sent back down to the team's AA affiliate Arkansas on Monday after he spent about a month with the big-league club.
"Back to Little Rock!,” said Trout, age 19, on Twitter. “(I) had awesome experience up here in Anaheim. Thanks for everything!"
Trout arrived with the Angels on July 8 after starting center fielder Peter Bourjos was injured. Trout started 12 games for the Angels, and hit .163 with a home run and six runs batted in.
But on July 23, Bourjos returned, and pretty much was going to make Trout be on the bench. Not wanting him to lose any of his playing edge, the Angels sent Trout back to AA Arkansas.
Trout is the nephew of City of Poteau Water Department employee Charles Busonick and his wife, Sandra.
