Are you ready for some football — Tower Drive-In style?

We took our boys up to Tower Drive-In Wednesday night for the first National Football League game of the year, the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants. When the game came on the big screen, the 1989 version of “Are You Ready for Some Football?” by Hank Williams, Jr. was played Boy, that brought back a lot of memories, and it was good to hear ol' Hank again. The picture was so clear, and we had Poteau's fantasy guru, Cody “Ace” Repass giving us the play-by-play with updates.
We had cheeseburgers with fries, Frito chili pie and chili-cheese fries, and Thomas Vongrath showed up with a funnel cake. I heard Jeff “Jedi” Dennis say, “Funnel cake — this is better than the fair!” It was a party now!
If there was anything bad about Wednesday night, it was that all the Dallas fans were yelling.
We all pulled off pieces of the funnel cake because it was huge. It was a lot of fun, but we had to leave in the third quarter because we had to get the kids home and in bed by 10 p.m. They will have Monday Night Football airings at Tower Drive-In every Monday night. You have got to go check it out! It's fun, and it's free.
Thomas is bringing a couch, I'm bringing my recliner, Alan Hensley is bringing a love seat and “Jedi” is bringing a coffet table. We're going to set up our own “He-Man Outdoor Living Room” to watch the game. I think I talked to everyone who was there, and we all yelled at the big screen. I really felt like I was at a live NFL game, and a real, live tailgate party. Thank you, Jon and Amber Pickle.
Save the world — recycle.
God bless our troops and our veterans.
Go Pirates and Bandit League teams.
Have a great weekend.
