The last political forum sponsored by area chambers of commerce and media apparently left those attending wanting more for the upcoming general election.
Since the last forum, held just prior to the primary elections, numerous requests have come in from voters wanting to see another question and answer forum for local candidates running for office in the general election.
According to Karen Wages, president and CEO of the Poteau Chamber of Commerce, the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center has been reserved for Tuesday, Oct. 19.
The forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. There will not be a charge for admission and refreshments will not be served.
The format for this forum will be somewhat different from the previous one in that the panel will take written questions from the audience and ask them of the candidates.
The panel itself will not have any prepared questions but will act as a go-between, asking those questions written down and presented by the audience. Audience members will not be permitted to ask the questions directly, or engage in one-on-one debate with the candidates.
