A Discover Oklahoma filming crew program flocked to Wister Lake State Park Thursday to film footage of an eagle habitat as part of an upcoming show.
The documentary will be televised Feb. 15 on about eight stations spanning from Witchita, Kan., to Denision, Texas, and includes KWTV channel 9 in Oklahoma City, KOTV channel 6 in Tulsa and KSWO channel 7 in Lawton.
According to wildlife observers, the seasonal event has been known to host as many as 25 eagles at a time and has offered what has become a tradition of eagle watching among many area residents. The crew said they were able to capture what is believed to be the largest and oldest eagle at the lake while filming.
Producer Dino Lalli and cameraman Tommy Evans also made their way to Poteau where they visited the LeFlore County Museum and The Coffee Cup.
