Area man injured in accident

A Heavener man is recovering in an area hospital following a Tuesday night accident.

A Heavener man is listed in stable condition at an area hospital following a Tuesday night accident.
According to the accident report completed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Buddy Vaughn, 28, of Heavener, was traveling north on Oklahoma Highway 112 one mile north of Poteau Tuesday night when the accident occurred.
The report shows Sophia Pearson, 47, of Poteau, was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer on a private driveway. She pulled onto the highway and struck Vaugn who was driving a 2003 Honda motorcycle.
Vaughn was transported by LeFlore County Emergency Medical Services to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith and was admitted with an arm injury.
Pearson was not injured in the accident.
