Arkoma football team seeks .500 record with Friday night win over Webbers Falls

November 1, 2012

After the Arkoma Mustangs football team lost its District C-4 contest to district-leading Thackerville on Oct. 18 at Mustang Field, any playoff hopes were dashed. However, there was still a shot at a .500 record for the 2012 season.
After the Mustangs (4-5 overall, 2-4 in district play) won last week on Senior Night 54-8 over Southwest Christian, they can achieve that goal with a win Friday night in the regular-season finale at Webbers Falls. Kickoff for the District C-4 game is 7:30 p.m.
“It's definitely made practice easier this week to have that sitting there, where we can go .500 and to not have a losing season,” said Mark Weatherton, Arkoma's coach. “That was a big part of the win, keeping that hope alive. We had a good practice [Tuesday]. I feel like we're going to go play well.”
Editor's note — Bokoshe's game will not take place against Southwest Covenant as the Tigers will have to forfeit the game due to lack of players.
