WILBURTON — The Arkoma Lady Mustangs and the Cameron Yellowjackets suffered their first postseason losses Thursday night at the Class A Regional Tournament at the new Wilburton Gym.
The Wright City teams both proved too much as the Lady Lumberjax downed the Lady Mustangs 55-50, while the ’Jax stung the ’Jackets 57-36.
The Lady Mustangs (16-8) and the Lady Yellowjackets (19-8) won their consolation semifinal games Friday night. Arkoma beat Keota to reach a match-up with Allen at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon for the consolation championship — and a trip to next week's Class A Area Tournament at the McAlester Expo Center. Any more losses will end the Lady Mustangs' season.
Cameron's boys held on to beat Kiowa Friday night to get to this afternoon's 3 p.m. consolation championship game against Boswell, with that winner playing next week in the area tournament. Another loss will end Cameron's season.
