DURANT — The Arkoma Lady Mustangs did not let it deter them by having to play three games in three days in last weekend's Class A Area Tournament at Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Bloomer Sullivan Fieldhouse.
The Lady Mustangs capped their three-game run at the area tournament by avenging their lone playoff loss of the postseason to the Kiowa Cowgirls, who beat them a week before in the regional finals.
Arkoma handled Kiowa 65-51 to make it to the Class A State Tournament, which will begin Thursday at Oklahoma City's State Fair Arena — a.k.a., “The Big House.”
The Lady Mustangs (24-4), making their first state appearance since 1992, will meet Frontier at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the state quarterfinals.
