CAMERON — The Arkoma Lady Mustangs softball team is one win away from heading to the Class A Regional Tournament — and, thus, winning their first-ever fast-pitch softball district title.
At the Class A District Tournament on Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs beat the host Cameron Lady Yellowjackets 2-1 in eight innings and downed the Howe Lady Lions 4-2 to reach this afternoon's title game undefeated.
The Lady ’Jackets were eliminated 2-0 by the Lady Lions in the middle game of the day. Cameron ends the season at 12-16.
Arkoma (10-10) and Howe (14-11) will play at 4 this afternoon for the district title, with the Lady Lions needing two wins to reach next week's regional tournament.
