Arkoma handles Wright Christian

November 3, 2013

The Arkoma Mustangs won in a 59-12 game-shortened contest Friday night by the mercy rule in the final quarter against Wright Christian on Friday night in Tulsa.
The Mustangs charged to an early lead and held it all night, but a freshman added the grace note by surrendering a certain score to set up a senior teammate for his first career touchdown coach Mark Weatherton said.
With a 53-12 lead, Matthew Harmon picked off a Wright Christian pass and ran it back 40 yards before stepping out of bounds at the 1-yard line.
On the next play, Austin Morales, who usually lines up at center, stood in at fullback for a handoff and stuck it in for the game-closing touchdown with two minutes left.
