otball team may not be one that anyone wants to face. After letting one get away on Sept. 20 against Maud [losing 43-42 when the host Tigers returned an interception for a touchdown in the final 30 seconds of regulation], the Mustangs took their frustations out last Friday night at home against Sasakwa, winning 81-32.
“That was what I was hoping for, that we'd bottle up all the emotions from that game and turn it loose on Sasakwa,” Arkoma coach Mark Weatherton said. “Sasakwa has a good team. They're physical and run the ball well. Other than the first drive where they scored in about three plays, we pretty much made them earn everything they got. I thought we played with a lot of intensity and emotion. It was a big district win.”
Now, the Mustangs (2-2 overall, 2-1 in District C-4 play) will hit the road to Yukon to face the Southwest Covenant Patriots (1-2 1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
