Arkoma Mustangs impressive in scrimmage against Gans, Watts

September 2, 2013

ARKOMA — The final warm-up scrimmage for three teams took place on the turf of Mustang Field for the host Arkoma Mustangs, the Gans Grizzlies and the Watts Engineers in this controlled scrimmage.
“We have been selected to finish out of the playoffs by the teams in our league [District C-4],” Arkoma coach Mark Weatherton said. “I believe we can make the playoffs. I believe we can be good on offense, but we must improve defensively. Last week, we played well against the Porum Pirates. We scored three times, and we held them to only one score. We will open next week at home against Keota. They are good.”
The format of the scrimmage was each team would run a dozen plays, and each play would originate from their own 30.
