Arkoma Mustangs just looking for game time in tonight's scrimmage at Porum

August 17, 2012

ARKOMA — For Arkoma Football Coach Mark Weatherton, he has basically got a totally new team due to graduation of last year's seniors and a couple of players moving. So, when the Mustangs travel to meet the Porum Panthers at 6 p.m. tonight for their first scrimmage, Weatherton just wants to get his players some playing time.
“We're just looking for some game time,” he said. “We've got 11 freshmen, and even some of the seniors are inexperienced. The ones who played last year, most of them are playing new positions due to graduation and losses. We just need to play, be under the lights and get some game time in. We've just got to get them into the right spots. That's why (tonight) is so important.”
