For Arkoma Mustangs, then there's Maud

For those who remember actress Beatrice Arthur's “All in the Family” spin-off of the 1970s, “Maude,” remember the theme song — which its lyrics say, “Then there's Maude.”
The Arkoma Mustangs football team might be singing a similar song this week, with the lyrics saying, “Then there's Maud” — as in the Maud Tigers.
The Mustangs will pay a visit to the Tigers for a crucial District C-4 contest at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Maud.
“We've told the kids that from now on, we're playing for the district championship,” Arkoma Coach Mark Weatherton said. “If we give one up, then that could cost us. It's been a long time since they've lost a home district game. It ought to be a dogfight.”
