Arkoma opens 2012 football season at Keota Friday night

August 29, 2012

The Arkoma Mustangs are anxiously awaiting the start of the 2012 season, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a road game against the Keota Lions.
“We're very excited to get it started,” said Mark Weatherton, Arkoma's coach. “Watching Keota on film, they look big and physical. But our kids are excited and ready to go. We're going to crank it up Friday night.”
The Mustangs opened last season with a win over Keota at Mustang Field. Weatherton said that the Lions have a little bit of a new look.
“They're a little bit different,” he said. “They've got some new faces, but the did graduate a couple of good players. But they have some good kids back. They've got good size and look physical. They look pretty good.”
