Arkoma plays final non-district game tonight, entertains Eagle Point Christian Academy

September 30, 2011

The Arkoma Mustangs football team will get one last chance to fine tune things before the rest of the District C-4 schedule. The Mustangs will welcome Eagle Point Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. tonight at home.
Since this is the final non-district game, there are some things which Arkoma Coach Mark Weatherton would like to accomplish tonight.
“We're going to try to get as many guys into the game,” he said. “We want to stay healthy, but we want to have our guys gain more experience and work on our depth. We had five guys last week who played every snap. I would like to give them some time off. I want to play the guys who can help us, but who don't have the experience. I think they'll get their chances early, no matter what the score is. I think we have a chance to go take care of business. I'm not as concerned with the score as I am getting the guys some playing time to get ready for Maud next week.”
