Arkoma teams, Bokoshe girls, Howe, Whitesboro boys post opening-round victories at Eastern Oklahoma State Classic; Red Oak Lady Eagles too much for Leflore Lady Savages

WILBURTON — For the most part, it was a successful night of hoops for LeFlore County teams on Day 2 of the Eastern Oklahoma State College Classic.
In the gold girls bracket, the Arkoma Lady Mustangs got pastr the Buffalo Valley Lady Buffaloes 42-39 Tuesday afternoon at the Wilburton High School Gym, but the Leflore Lady Savages fell 64-6 to the Red Oak Lady Eagles at EOSC's Claud C. Dunlap Fieldhouse.
In the blue girls bracket, the Bokoshe Lady Tigers handled the Haileyville Lady Warriors 48-16 Tuesday night at the WHS Gym.
In the blue boys bracket, it was a 3-for-3 performance for LeFlore County teams. The Arkoma Mustangs edged the Clayton Bulldogs 57-55 and the Howe Lions clawed the Panola Bearcats 66-24, both games at the WHS Gym. At EOSC, the Whitesboro Bulldogs defeated the Haileyville Warriors 76-52.
Only one local team, the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs, saw action on consolation semifinal Wednesday, facing Buffalo Valley at EOSC. The winner will play the winner of tonight's Leflore-Cave Springs game — which takes place at 6:40 p.m. tonight at the WHS Gym — in the gold bracket consolation championship game at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the WHS Gym. The two losers will play for seventh place at 4 p.m. Friday at the WHS Gym.
Today and tonight will be championship semifinals at both Wilburton sites. In gold boys bracket action, Leflore will meet McCurtain at 5:20 this afternoon at EOSC, with the winner meeting Friday night's Red Oak-Buffalo Valley winner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at EOSC for the championship. The two losers will play for third place at 1:10 p.m. Saturday at EOSC.
Also in the boys gold bracket, the Bokoshe Tigers will face the Battiest Panthers at 8 tonight at the WHS Gym in the consolation semifinals. The winner will meet the Gans-Pittsburg winner at 11:50 a.m. Saturday at the WHS Gym for the consolation title, while the losers will play at 5:20 p.m. Friday at the WHS Gym for seventh place.
In blue girls bracket action, Bokoshe will play Gans at 4 this afternoon, while the Howe Lady Lions will face McCurtain at 6:40 tonight — both games at EOSC. The winners will play for the championship at 7:50 p.m. Saturday at EOSC, while the losers will play for third place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at EOSC.
It will be an all-LeFlore County blue boys championship semifinal tonight at EOSC as Arkoma will play Howe at 8 p.m. The winner will meet the winner of Friday's Whitesboro-Cave Springs game, which will tip off at 5:20 p.m. at EOSC, for the championship at 9:10 p.m. Saturday at EOSC. The losers will play for third place at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at EOSC.
