Artie Bell Margaret Deleplank, 74,
of Poteau died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 in
Heavener. Artie was born in Calhoun on
Sept. 10, 1937, to Frances Dora (Chitwood)
Phillips. Artie was a loving wife, mother
and the best granny anyone could have.
She worked for 40 years as a CNA and
touched many lives in her career. She
devoted her life to taking care of others.
She never met a stranger, had an open door and a place
at the dinner table for anyone who was hungry. She loved
taking care and cooking for family and friends. Artie was
preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, fi ve brothers
and son-in-law, Steve Hastings.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bob of the
home; daughters and son-in-law, Dora and Rick Piersant,
Debra Hastings of Poteau; sons and daughters-in-law,
Bobby and Dawn Deleplank of Poteau, Hoss and Chantay
Deleplank of Shady Point, Billy Deleplank of Poteau; 13
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and
loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Evans
Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with the Rev. Jim Cook
offi ciating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Cook, Al Monks, Chris Bunner,
Billy Hoffman, George Urchison and Rodney Hemphill.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from
6-8 p.m. to visit with relatives friends.
