Attending Teresa Thompson Benefit Dinner

March 7, 2014

JUBILANT JERRID — LeFlore County Bass Club member, Jerrid Keller, left, along with partner Sam Hembree were second at the Tri-Lakes Tournament last month on Broken Bow Lake. They hauled in 17.08 pounds, missing first place by less than a pound. They split $785 for coming in runners-up. Photo Submitted by April Keller

We went to the Teresa Thompson Benefit Dinner and Pie Auction Sunday afternoon at the Poteau Upper Elementary School cafeteria. The top items that were up for auction were Elaine Jensen's fried pies, Pete Crandell's chocolate-covered strawberries and Linda Newman's best-ever chocolate-chip cookies.
My son, Jacques, had $120 stashed away from his birthday and Christmas. He got his bid card, No. 27, and he waited for Linda's cookies to come on the auction block.
Taylor Branstetter was our auctionneer, and Jeff Jensen was the spotter, running around yelling and going crazy. I felt like I was in a Ray Stevens' video.
I'll see you at the boat ramp.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
Have a great weekend.
