Memorial services for Barbara Nelson, 79, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Asbury United Methodist Church Mason Chapel in Broken Arrow. The Rev. Tom Harrison will officiate.
Barbara Ann Nelson was born on Sept. 26, 1933, in Springfield, o., the daughter of Dr. James Leroy and Mamie (Lance) Baker. Barbara died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Poteau High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma for one year. The former Miss Barbara Ann Baker was married to Roger Dean Nelson on April 11, 1952, in Poteau. Roger preceded Barbara on July 29, 1996. Barbara moved to Tulsa in 1996 from Canada. She was a regional vice president with Arbonne International. Barbara was a member of Asbury United Methodist church for 27 years. Faith, family, friends and football summed up Barbara, although not necessarily in that order. She loved her church, bridge and the Arbonne family.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Diana and husband David Lewis of Houston, Carol Nelson Egelston of Tulsa; sons, Michael Nelson of Tulsa, Mark and wife Lori Nelson of Tulsa; grandchildren; Kenna Lewis, Cassie Lewis, Cody Lewis, Kyle Nelson, Kayli Nelson, Colton Nelson, Heath Thompson, Michael Cole Nelson and Gabrielle Nelson; great-grandchild, Sophie Johannes; sister, Wilma Young; Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; niece, Kim Bassey, Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada.
 Services are under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home, Broken Arrow.
