Baseball is wrapping up; fishing time about to heat up for me

July 14, 2011

STRING OF CATFISH — Brad McMillin's kids, from left, Dax, Stevee and Braxtyn, went on a fishing outing recently and caught a big stringer of catfish. Photo Submitted by Deedra McMillin

I am just about finished with summer baseball. My midget team finished second to a good Durant team which is now battling at the state tournament right here in Poteau.
My prep team won their first game at its state tournament Tuesday in McLoud and were scheduled to play Chandler Wednesday night. The other three games were rained out Tuesday in McLoud, so there were games all day Wednesday and ours was scheduled to be the last. I wrote this before we played, so I don’t know how it turned out.

Brad McMillin took his kids out and caught several catfish. I did not get directions to his secret fishing spot. Hopefully, I will get at least one piece of fried catfish. From the look of the picture, they had a pretty good time!
