Better late than never

First of all, let me say I'm sorry about the lateness of the Week 1 Gridiron Notes Column. My goal is to get it in either Wednesday's or Thursday's or Friday's edition. However, it will always run by no later than the Saturday edition after the previous week's game — like this is today.
I believe that it's more important to wait to make sure I have all the information I need for it and run it in a Saturday edition than to rush putting it in an earlier edition and leave someone out who is deserving of being part of the individual lists, which you will see below.

This column will always have an Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week as well as list all the 100-yard rushers, passers, receivers, those who score 12 points or more and the Defensive Honor Roll each week from the previous game. Coaches may nominate players for either or both Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
