Betty Jo Gibson

Betty Jo Gibson, 80, of Leflore died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Durant. Betty was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Leflore to Oscar and Josie (French) Baxter. She was a homemaker. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milo; daughter, Sherry Hollan; sisters, Mildred Wilson and Florene Pruitt; nephew, Sam Baxter; and niece, Pam Nichols. She loved flowers, raising kids and cooking. She always kept everyone in line.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Julie Gibson of Wister; grandchildren, Stacey Gibson and Justin Anderson of Cartwright, Michael and Danica Gibson of Red Oak, Rocky and Denise Hollan of Poteau, Tara and Chris Goldsborough of Red Oak; nine great-grandchildren, Chase, Wyatt, Doc, Briley, Hunter, Faith, Jordan, Cheyenne and Aubree; one brother, Henry Baxter of Seminole; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones. 
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 at the Methodist Church in Wister. Burial will be in Wister City Cemetery. 
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
