Betty L. Shockley

Betty L. Shockley, 77, of Poteau died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Poteau.
Betty was born Jan. 2, 1936, in Clint, Texas, to Jesse B. and Bernice (Frey) Nichols. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her Facebook friends and researching family genealogy. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Shockley; her parents; and sister, Evelyn Nichols.
Survivors include her sons, Monte Sr. and Rita Shockley of Poteau, Jeff and Connie Shockley of Poteau; daughter, Mary and David Peevy of Alma, Ark.; grandchildren, Monte Jr. and Ashley Shockley, Brooke and Paul Mason, Sarah and Levy Adcock, Tyler Shockley and Taylor Shockley; great-grandchildren, Joel Mason, Jenna Mason, Morgin Shockley and Annistin Shockley. 
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with Paul Mason and Gary Vancil officiating. Pallbearers will be Monte Shockley Jr., Tyler Shockley, Taylor Shockley, David Peevy, Levy Adcock and Jay Sommers.
