Bobbie Lee Pope, 97, of the Howe-Glendale community, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in Pocola.
Bobbie, a longtime area resident, was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Uvalde, Texas, to Burton and Eleanor (Applewhite) Bridges. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Pope.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Evans of Poteau; two sons, Tommy Pope and wife, Gimmie, of Dardanelle, Ark., and Buddy Pope and wife, Letha, of Pocola; a brother, D.W. Hampton and wife, Jean, of Malakoff, Texas; seven grandchildren, Linda, Tina, Gary, Ronnie, Kim and Steve; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, in the Dowden Funeral Home Chapel, Heavener.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Booneville, Ark., under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
