Bobbie R. Hammons

Bobbie R. Hammons, 87, of Bokoshe
died Aug. 12, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. She
was born Sept, 6, 1923, in Kinta to John
Johnson and Dora Anna (Griffith) Adams.
She was a retired factory worker. Bobbie
Adams married Sewell C. Hammons on
December 20, 1941, in Kinta. She was a
faithful member of the First Baptist Church
of Bokoshe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved
husband; a granddaughter, Amy Rachelle Hammons; a
brother, Floyd Box; and two sisters, Pauline Trahern and
Melvina Heather.
Surviving her are three sons and daughters-in-law,
Sewell Dean and Karen Hammons of Clarksville, Ark.,
Gary and Wanda Hammons of Tulsa, and Larry Don and
wife Carol Ann Hammons of Bokoshe; grandchildren, Jon
and Jackie Rhine, Mark Hammons, Alan Hammons, Larry
Paul and Heather Hammons, Amanda and Justin Jenkins;
great-grandchildren, Landon Dean Rhine, Hunter Blaine
Hammons, Brystal Cheyenne Hammons, Bryer Trace
Jenkins, Temper Lane Jenkins, and KyLee Jo Lovell; as
well as a host of other family members, friends, and loved
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers
will be Larry Carver, Gary Carver, John Phillips,
J.D. Phillips, Charles Wells, Norman Hoffman and Jim
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15, at
the First Baptist Church, Bokoshe, with Bro. Jim Smith
officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 3- 5 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace
Manor Funeral Home, Poteau.
