Body found in pond possibly a homicide

January 28, 2014

Sheriff's Department investigates possible homicide near Talihina.

According to LeFlore County Sheriff Rob Seale, the body of a young man was found in Southern LeFlore County Monday afternoon and an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
The body was found in a pond west of Talihina, according to Seale.
"The body is believed to be that of a 19-year-old male that was reported missing from Talihina last week," said Seale. "The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Officer for positive indentification and to determine the cause of death."
Seale said the name of the man is not being released at this time until positive identification is made and relatives are notified.
The case is currently being investigated as a possible homicide.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case, said Seale.
