Bokoshe gets first win of season for new coach; now, it's Panama's turn

September 30, 2011

While it took four games to do it, the Bokoshe Tigers won their first game of the season last week against Eagle Point Christian Academy in a dramatic 48-42 win.
Now, seven of the eight LeFlore County teams have gotten rid of the zero in the win column. That leaves the Panama Razorbacks, who have lost 14 straight games, to get a 'W.' It will be hard for them, facing the defending District 2A-6 champion Talihina Golden Tigers at Doc Robinson Stadium. But anything can happen, and, despite their 0-4 start, the Hogs are showing signs of improvement under first-year Coach Brandon Ellis. A win tonight would do wonders for the ’Backs, if they can pull off the upset.
Speaking of Talihina, the Golden Tigers and the Arkoma Mustangs are the only undefeateds remaining in LeFlore County. Arkoma has winless Eagle Point Christian Academy tonight at home.
Other county teams, Poteau, Spiro, Heavener and Pocola are all trying to rebound tonight from disappointing district-opening losses last week.
Of course, the Indians had to face highly-ranked Vian last week, with the Wolverines entertaining the Wolves this week. The Pirates are trying to snap a two-game losing streak, while the Bulldogs will try to end a three-game skid since opening the season with a 44-6 victory over Spiro in Week 1.
Let the kickoffs commence, and see what happens tonight!
