Bokoshe seeks first win for new coach; Tigers open C-4 play at Midway

September 9, 2011

The Bokoshe Tigers football team will try to get new coach Tyler Massey his first win tonight. If it happens, it will be at a very opportune time for the Tigers.
Bokoshe will open District C-4 play tonight against the Midway Chargers at 7:30 p.m. in Council Hill.
The winner of tonight's game will be in a multiple-team tie for first place, along with the winners of tonight's Prue-Arkoma game and Claremore Christian-Maud game — the other two District C-4 contests.
The Tigers (0-1) are coming off a 56-0 loss to the Porum Panthers last Friday night at home. The contest was the real first true game-like situation the Tigers had been in this season. Due to school not starting until Aug. 24, not all the players were around when preseason practice began on Aug. 9. Bokoshe had no scrimmages in the preseason, unlike most — if not all — schools who had two preseason scrimmages.
“We just got a lot of work to do,” Massey said. “We've been practicing this week, and we're hoping to bounce back. That definitely was not how we wanted to start the season out. We hope to work on the things we need to work on and get ready for Midway (tonight).”
