Brief blast of winter weather causes freezing

Bridges and overpasses began to freeze Tuesday morning after snow and sleet fell across LeFlore County.

A brief blast of winter weather caused slick bridges and overpasses Tuesday morning.
A winter storm that was traveling to the east dropped snow and sleet across LeFlore County creating potentially dangerous conditions for drivers.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers reported slick and hazardous conditions, especially to the south end of the county.
Temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing for morning lows and highs around 40 degrees until Friday.
The storm that caused the hazardous conditions is expected to clear the area by 3 p.m. according to the National Weather Service.
