Buccaneers make it to winner's-bracket finals at PeeWee State Tournament; Rebels tried to stay alive Thursday night

CUSHING — The Poteau Buccaneers OK Kids PeeWee baseball team found itself two wins from a state title Thursday night.
The Buccaneers blanked the Cushing Tigers 10-0 Wednesday night in the winner's-bracket semifinals of the 2012 PeeWee State Tournament. They faced the Coleman BRW on Thursday night, with the winner being in the 6 p.m. Saturday state title game, while the loser will play at 8 p.m. tonight in the loser's-bracket final with a chance to get to the championship game.
The Rebels, the other LeFlore County team in the field, tried to stay alive in the loser's-bracket as they met the Shawnee Spikes Thursday night, with the winner playing in the loser's-bracket semifinal at 6 p.m. tonight against the winner of Thursday's Cushing Tigers-Clinton White game.
In the Buccaneers' victory Cushing, Chance Timms pitched a five-inning shutout, and aided his own cause by driving in two runs.
Hunter Sebo was 1-for-3 with two runs batted in, Easton Francis was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Atticus Pate had an RBI on a suicide-squeeze bunt.
