Byng blanks Poteau boys in Class 4A regional final; despite loss, Pirates set record for wins in a season

The Pirates are going to the Class 4A State Tournament. Unfortunately, those Pirates hail from Pontotoc County.
Byng's Pirates used a pair of five-run innings to down Poteau 10-0 in a five-inning, mercy-rule game in the winner-take-all game of the Class 4A Regional Tournament on Monday afternoon at Town Creek Park.
Poteau ends the season at 29-9, but did set the record for wins in a season despite losing Monday's regional final.
