Cameron angler wins BASSMaster Weekend Series title
In the co-angler division, Cameron's Wade J. Dalton won it all in the latest 2012 Toyota Tundra BASSMaster Weekend Series May 19 on Lake Eufaula. He caught three bass weighing a collective 10.41 pounds, which included the big bass winner which weighed 5.88 pounds. For his win, he pocketed $1,433.75, plus an added $169.17 for his big bass winner.“I caught the big fish by flipping docks with a homemade jig,” Dalton said. “I also caught some fish on a strike king KVD 1.5 square-billed crankbait around riprap points and banks. I caught six fish, and culled twice.”All total, there were 71 boats in the co-angler division's competition, and the limit was three fish.Dalton also was runner-up in the BASSMaster Weekend Series March 24 on Lake Tenkiller, and won $800.Dalton is a long-time member of the LeFlore County Bass Club, and the old Green Country Bass Club. He has been fishing some kind of bass tournaments for years, and it's great for him to get to the next level.Who knows? Tonight, we'll be at Long Lake Resort for our “Friday Night Cookout.” The menu includes fried fish, hush puppies, French-fried potatoes, grilled wings and barbecue ribs!
