McALESTER — Cameron's Austin Standridge won Wednesday night's Southeast Coaches All-Star Game Home Run Derby Wednesday night at Mike Deak Field. He hit five home runs total, four of which came in the second round.
Talihina's Austin Lawson was runner-up with two homers — one in each round. Both players will return next week to compete in the State Coaches Home Run Derby.
As for the game, the Blue, which featured Standridge, Lawson, Cameron's Dale Pearson and Talihina's Zach Curran, defeated the White 9-4.
Standridge went 0-for-3 with a run batted in, Pearson went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit and a run scored, Lawson was 1-for-3 and Curran was 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Blue. Pearson pitched in the third and fourth innings.
In defeat, Talihina's Josh James and Andrew Young played for the White. James did not have a hit, but made some defensive plays in the field, while Young was 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base.
