Cameron boys blank Whitesboro in Howe Wood Bat Tournament; host Lions lose to Smithville Braves; Leflore, Wister boys played later Thursday

HOWE — The Cameron Yellowjackets baseball team advanced to Saturday afternoon's championship semifinals of the Howe Wood Bat Tournament with a 10-0 win over the Whitesboro Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon.
The host Lions suffered a 12-2 loss to the Smithville Braves in the game immediately following.
The ’Jackets and the Braves will play at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in the championship semifinals, with the winner playing for the title at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Cameron-Smithville loser will play for third place at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Howe and Whitesboro played Friday afternoon in the consolation semifinals, with the winner playing for the consolation championship later that night.
The other side of the bracket saw action later on Thursday as Leflore faced Clayton and Wister played McCurtain.
Clayton played McCurtain loser Friday afternoon for the right to play for the consolation championship later that day.
Leflore will meet Wister at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the championship semifinals, with the winner meeting the Cameron-Smithville winner for the title Saturday night. The loser will play the Cameron-Smithville loser for third place Saturday afternoon.
